Branding & Custom Packaging FAQs
Planning branded jewellery boxes, gift bags or a bespoke packaging project? Here are answers to common questions about personalising your packaging with Box for Britain. All prices mentioned below exclude VAT.
Can you print my logo on boxes and bags?
We offer in-house hot-foil printing to add your business name or logo to suitable packaging. Send us the boxes or bags you’re interested in, your quantity and artwork, and we’ll discuss the options.
Which boxes are suitable for in-house printing?
Not all boxes are suitable for in-house printing. Printing on the top of the box is available only for cardboard boxes. Our Leatherette, Everest and Velvet collections can be printed inside the lid. Send us your chosen box or product reference so we can confirm suitability.
What is hot-foil printing?
Hot-foil printing uses heat and pressure to apply a foil finish to your packaging, creating a branded impression.
Which foil colours are available?
Foil options include gold, silver and black. Contact us to discuss a finish that complements your packaging.
How much does a printing block cost?
Each printing block costs £50 excluding VAT and covers one block size. This is a one-off charge per block. If you require different block sizes, these cost £50 excluding VAT per block.
Will I need more than one printing block?
Different box sizes may need different block sizes. We’ll discuss the boxes you’re ordering with you and recommend suitable sizes and how many blocks you need before confirming the charges.
Can my printing block be reused?
Yes, your block can be reused for future printing orders. If you’ve ordered printed packaging from us before, mention your previous order so we can check your existing block’s details and suitability.
How much does printing cost?
Printing costs £0.15 (15p) per box excluding VAT. For bags or other items, contact us to confirm the printing charge for your project.
What artwork should I send?
A vector PDF or Adobe Illustrator file is preferred. If you’re unsure whether your artwork is suitable, send us the files you have so we can discuss any preparation or design support required.
Will I see an artwork proof?
Send us your logo and let us know which box you’d like printed. We can then provide a digital sample so you can see how the printing will look. We provide an artwork proof for you to check before printing. Please review your logo, wording and contact details carefully and send any corrections in writing.
What is the minimum order quantity for printing?
Our printing service has a minimum order quantity of 300 pieces.
Can you help with multi-colour printing or a fully bespoke design?
We can discuss offset printing for projects requiring multiple colours or more detailed designs, as well as bespoke packaging and displays. Share your ideas, branding and requirements so we can explore suitable materials, colours and finishes.
How long will my printing order take?
Your first printing order will take around two weeks while we set up your logo block. Repeat printing orders will take a maximum of one week, as your block is already set up.
For fully bespoke packaging projects, contact us to confirm the lead time. Include your required delivery date with your enquiry so we can discuss whether it can be accommodated.
What should I include when requesting a quote?
Please send your business name, packaging type or product reference, quantity, logo or artwork, preferred print colour and required delivery date. For repeat orders, include your previous order details.
